John Newman Selected as Outstanding Junior Investigator of the Year by AGS
John Newman, MD, PhD was chosen as Outstanding Junior Investigator of the Year by the American Geriatrics Society. The award will be presented at the 2018 AGS Annual Meeting in May. Dr. Newman’s research at UCSF and the Buck Institute for Research on Aging focuses on understanding how metabolic signals such as ketone bodies regulate mechanisms of aging, including a recent study of ketogenic diet in aging mice published in Cell Metabolism. Dr. Newman is also dedicated to accelerating the translation of advances in geroscience from the bench to the clinic.
