  Drs. Poelke, Ventura, Byers, Yaffe, Sudore, and Barnes are published in International Psychogeriatrics
Sep 02, 2015 Dr. Gina Poelke, Dr. Maria Ventura , Dr. Amy Byers , Dr. Kristine Yaffe , Dr. Rebecca Sudore , and Dr. Deborah Barnes published their paper "Leisure Activities and Depressive Symptoms in Older Adults with Cognitive Complaints" in International Psychogeriatrics.
 


  Marielle Bolano awarded grant on behalf of UCDSOM Geriatrics Student Interest Group
Sep 03, 2015 Marielle Bolano, a medical student at the University of California Davis School of Medicine (UCDSOM) and a former Research Assistant in the UCSF Division of Geriatrics was awarded a grant on behalf of the UCDSOM Geriatrics Student Interest Group to teach medical students basic geriatrics knowledge and skills to optimize geriatric care quality in student run clinics. Dr. Brie Williams and Mr. Cyrus Ahalt from the UCSF Division of Geriatrics served as faculty advisors for her grant application to the Fred Harrold Family Fund from the Sacramento Region Community Foundation.
 


  Dr. Sei Lee is giving VA Medical Grand Rounds on Sept. 8
Sep 04, 2015 Dr. Sei Lee will be giving VA Medical Grand Rounds on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 from 12noon - 1pm in the SFVAMC Auditorium. He will be presenting his talk entitled "Glycemic Treatment in Older Adults: Why, How Low and How?"
 


  Celebration for Ken Covinsky who received the Harold S. Luft Award for Mentoring
Sep 10, 2015 Ken Covinsky, M.D has been selected as this year's recipient of the Harold S. Luft Award for Mentoring in Health Services and Health Policy Research. There will be a celebration event on Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at 3:00 pm at Laurel Heights.

Video-based urinary incontinence care guidance for caregivers of older adults with dementia Principal Investigator: Dr. Amy Hsu

Developing a toolkit to empower IHSS workers to engage disenfranchised older adults in advance care planning Principal Investigator: Dr. Rebecca Sudore

  Dr. Meredith Greene Welcomed as Medical Director of UCSF Home Health
Sep 18, 2015 UCSF Medical Center leadership sent a UCSF-wide e-mail 9/17/15 welcoming several new UCSF medical directors, including Dr. Meredith Greene, who is the Medical Director of UCSF Home Health. Here is the blurb written about Dr. Greene: Dr. Meredith Greene is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Geriatrics at UCSF. She is a geriatrician and American Academy of HIV Medicine Specialist who is interested in improving healthcare for vulnerable older adults. With this interest she has specifically conducted research at the intersection of HIV and geriatric medicine to improve care for older HIV+ adults and taken on leadership roles pertaining to improving care for homebound older adults. Her clinical work in the UCSF Housecalls program which provides medical care in the home for homebound older adults and her interactions with home health services led to her interest in the current Medical Director position. In addition to her role as Medical Director for UCSF Home Health Care she also serves as the Associate Medical Director for UC Care at Home which includes the Housecalls and Bridges programs. Originally from the Midwest, Dr. Greene received her undergraduate degree at Albion College and her medical degree at Wayne State University before moving to San Francisco for internal medicine residency at UCSF
