  PREPARE Won the CA Let's Get Healthy Innovation Challenge!
Jan 06, 2016 Congratulations to the PREPARE team led by Dr.Rebecca Sudore for being a finalist in the Let's Get Healthy California Innovation Challenge! Sponsored by the California Department of Public Health and the California Health and Human Services Agency, this challenge received submissions from community and health advocates, health care providers, community based organizations, civic and data enthusiasts, and many other individuals working to positively impact the lives of Californians. PREPARE will be among a select group of innovators that will be features at the Let's Get Healthy California Statewide Innovation Conference on January 26, 2016 in Sacramento.

  Dr. Christine Ritchie Presented in the Global Brain Health Institute Conference
Jan 06, 2016 Christine Ritchie, M.D was invited to participate in the inaugural Global Brain Health Institute Conference. The conference presented by The Cuban Neurosciences Center (CNEURO) and the Global Brain Health Institute (GBHI) was held in Havana, Cuba, December 9 – 11, 2015. Dr. Ritchie gave a talk on Palliative care and dementia.
 


  Dr. Alex Smith Pictures and Interviewed in Science
Jan 21, 2016 UCSF Division of Geriatrics faculty member Dr. Alex Smith was one of several Alex Smith's pictured and interviewed in the journal Science about a new effort to combat name confusion in academics. Read the full article here.
 


  Dr. Daphne Lo is one of the lead authors in the book "Occupational Therapy with Aging Adults: Promoting Quality of Life through Collaborative Practice"
Jan 28, 2016 Dr. Daphne Lo was lead author for a chapter titled "Nutrition, Occupational Performance, and the Phenomenology of Food in Later Life" in the book "Occupational Therapy with Aging Adults: Promoting Quality of Life through Collaborative Practice" that was just published. She has been working on the chapter since medical school. UCSF is listed as her affiliation.
 


  Medical Legal Partnership for Seniors is a Finalist in the CA DPH & CA HHSA "Let's Get Healthy CA Innovation Challenge"
Jan 28, 2016 The Medical Legal Partnership for Seniors (led by Carolyn Welty, M.D , Helen Kao, M.D , Yvonne Troya, JD, and Sarah Hooper, JD) has been selected to be a Finalist in the California Department of Public Health and the California Health & Human Services Agency’s “Let’s Get Healthy California Innovation Challenge.” MLPS will be participating in the Innovation Conference in Sacramento on January 26, 2016. As a late note, MLPS also presented a poster about the MLPS at the GSA annual meeting in Orlando Nov 2015.
