Medical Students

The faculty of the division of geriatrics is some of the most highly rated teachers in the UCSF School of Medicine. We value commitment to and enthusiasm for teaching, as well as excellence in assessment and scholarship. We aim to inspire early learners and to convey the importance of knowledge and skills in the care of older patients.

We lead or participate in the following aspects of the student curriculum:

  1. Interprofessional Aging and Palliative Care elective: First and second year medical students
  2. Interprofessional Aging and Palliative Care student interest group: First through fourth year medical students
  3. Life Cycle, Geriatrics - ethics and pharmacology: Second year medical students
  4. Longitudinal Clinic Experience: Third year medical students
  5. Geriatric medicine elective: Fourth year medical students
  6. MSTAR: First year medical students during the summer
  7. Mentored research projects: First through fourth year medical students
