Congratulations Belinda and Jasmine on Medical School Acceptances!

Please join us in congratulating Belinda Tang and Jasmine Wong on their recent medical school acceptance!

Belinda joined us last October as a Clinical Research Coordinator for Dr. Anna Chodos and Dr. Natalie Young.  She assumed her role so quickly and flawlessly that we gave her more work 😉.  She ended up taking on Dr. Louise Aronson’s projects as well in the last several months!  Some of her projects included: Ethical Dilemmas in the Care of Unrepresented Adults in the Safety Net, Novel Housecalls Curriculum for Primary Care Internal Medicine Residents, and Adult and Senior Care Program Provider Informational Calls.  During her time here, Belinda has made a real difference in moving these research projects along for her PIs.  She is sad to leave and our team is bummed to lose her, but that’s OK!  She’ll promised to be back.  Belinda was recently accepted to the SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY where she will be enrolled in the MD Program in the College of Medicine.  Her last day will be Friday 7/23, but we hope to hear from her in the future!!

Jasmine joined us in February as Project Assistant for the PREPARE Team.  Working closely with Dr. Rebecca Sudore and her team, Jasmine provided much needed support on studies related to advance care planning including: Integration of Easy-to-Read, Culturally-Appropriate, Evidenced-based Advance Directives for all US States into the PREPARE Website, and Population-based comparison of evidence-based, patient-centered advance care planning interventions.  Our team loved working with her immediately, as she no doubt has made a lasting impact on us with her amazing organizational skills and positive attitude!  Jasmine has been accepted to the Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) Program at Georgetown University.  Working with the PREPARE Team has allowed Jasmine to gain a valuable perspective on caring for older patients, communicating with their family members, and navigating difficult medical decisions.  Her last day with us is tomorrow, but if I know Dr. Sudore, I think we’ll somehow find a way to lure Jasmine back for one reason or another!

Congratulations and good luck to Belinda and Jasmine!  You will be amazing, we just know it!!!
