Drs. Lo and Allison Mentor Trainees on Video Visit Adoption Project

Drs. Daphne Lo and Theresa Allison mentored a group of trainees from March 2020-Dec 2020 through ongoing quality improvement projects centered around video visit adoption in SFVAHCS Home Based Primary Care as part of a new UCSF School of Medicine COVID elective administered through the UCSF Bridges Clinical Microsystems Clerkship led by Drs. Anna Chang and Edgar Pierluissi. Through Dr. Allison, Chloe Cattle, Brian McSteen, and Mike Cheng’s work, SFVAHCS exceeded the national and regional average in video visit adoption during the early part of the pandemic. Their work has been accepted and published including as a brief report in JAGS (The Adoption of Video Visits During the COVID-19 Pandemic by VA Home Based Primary Care) and a student letter in Academic Medicine (“Courage in Accommodation: Working with Older Adults to Connect during a Pandemic”).
