Title: Deprescribing for Older Adults – Beyond the Obvious

Speaker: Dr. Michael Steinman

Michael Steinman, MD is a geriatrician and Professor of Medicine in the UCSF Division of Geriatrics and the San Francisco VA Medical Center. His research investigates the quality and outcomes of medication use in older adults with multiple chronic conditions and aims to  devise strategies to improve prescribing for this vulnerable population. He serves as co-Principal Investigator of the US Deprescribing Research Network, co-chair of the American Geriatrics Society’s Beers Criteria guideline update panel, Director of the UCSF T32 Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Aging Research, and Associate Director for the UCSF Pepper Center for Aging Research.
