Mitch Erickson Celebrates Age-Friendly Communities
Mitchel Erickson, DNP, MS, BSN, BSc, ACNP-C, recently shared a reflection from Vancouver Island, British Columbia, on the importance of creating age-friendly communities.
“The world is becoming increasingly aware of the value of age diversity in our communities. While chaperoning my 85-year-old friend from San Francisco and my 80-year-old mother along the coasts and forest trails, I was struck by how essential equitable access to both community and natural spaces truly is. Diversity must include age-related access.”
His experience is a reminder that building inclusive environments means ensuring that people of all ages can participate fully in the beauty and resources our communities offer.
