UCGC Inbasket volume improvements!

In the last 2 years, UCSF Center for Geriatric Care has implemented several new tactics, including adjusting panel size to match appointment availability, streamlining schedule templates, and developing standard work for handling Inbasket messages. These efforts have had amazing success.  Wait times for a 3rd next available appointment dropped from 48 days to 16 days, meaning that patients can more easily schedule urgent appointments. The number of Inbasket messages dropped by 36% for Dr. Daniel Pound and by 50% by Dr. Carolyn Welty over this 2 year period, reflecting that our staff is better equipped either to handle messages using protocols or to convert incoming messages into acute appointments.  These results were only possible due to impressive teamwork from all of the staff and providers at Geriatric Care.
