UCSF Department of Medicine Faculty Publish Article in NEJM on Leading Family Meetings on Behalf of Seriously Ill Patients

UCSF Department of Medicine faculty from Pulmonary/Critical Care (James Frank, MD and Lekshmi Santhosh, MD, MA), ZSFG Palliative Care (Wendy Anderson, MD), and the Division of Geriatrics (Alex Smith, MD, MPH, MS, Kana Mckee, MD, and Eric Widera, MD) just published an article in the NEJM on leading family meetings on behalf of seriously ill patients. Their NEJM Video in Clinical Medicine places leading family meetings on par with other more traditional medical procedures, highlighting the importance of communication skills as a medical competency.
