Welcome Anna Ignatova!
Please join us in welcoming Anna Ignatova, DNP, GNP-bc, RN, Age-Friendly Emergency Department (AFED) Nurse Practitioner, to the Division!
The UCSF Emergency Department, in partnership with the Division of Geriatrics, operates an Age-Friendly Emergency Department Program (AFED). AFED’s mission is to ensure a patient-valued older adult emergency department experience through high quality resource optimization, community relationships, diversity of engaged health professionals, respecting the patient desire to attain their desired level of independence and function. Anna started this morning and will be joining Camie, Journey, and Anna (Hines) who already support the AFED consult service and working closely with a multi-disciplinary team of pharmacists, ED providers, geriatricians, social workers, community-based providers, and other interdisciplinary professionals and services to create an optimal discharge or ongoing plan of care for our patients.
Anna earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Health Services Administration from Saint Mary’s College of California, holds a Master of Science degree as Gerontological Nurse Practitioner, and is a Doctor of Nursing Practice from UCSF. Most recently, Anna worked as a Clinical Practice Consultant for Kaiser Permanente Regional Continuum of Care. She was also a Nurse Practitioner for Kaiser Permanente’s Community Care Program for over 19 years! Her other work experience include:

Anna is a strong supporter of promoting implementation of evidence - based practice into clinical practice and have a special interest in program development, including assessment of need, characteristics of the health problem, and quantification of the magnitude and seriousness of the problems identified, implementing interventions, and assessing the results. Anna is a Board-Certified Geriatric Nurse Practitioner who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team.
