Welcome Dr. Jasmine Santoyo-Olsson!
This week we are excited to welcome Dr. Jasmine Santoyo-Olsson to the UCSF Division of Geriatrics faculty starting on July 1, 2025.
Dr. Santoyo-Olsson completed a BA in Applied Mathematics from UC Berkeley and a MSc in Epidemiology from Brown University. She then spent ~15 years as a research analyst at UCSF before returning to UC Berkeley to complete her DrPH and received the Laurene Wu McClain Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine while at UC Berkeley. She most recently completed our T32 Aging Research Fellowship in June 2025 and will be joining our research faculty. Informed by her experiences as a bilingual and bicultural Latina from California’s Central Valley, her research focuses on improving psychosocial support resources for historically marginalized older adults with chronic conditions and their caregivers, especially in Latino and rural communities. Her expertise spans mixed-methods research including developing community-based interventions that empower Latino caregivers and support them in planning and medical decision-making when their loved ones have dementia.
Please join us in welcoming Dr. Jasmine Santoyo-Olsson to the UCSF Division of Geriatrics faculty!
