Welcome Dr. Maki Nakazato!
This week we are excited to welcome Dr. Maki Nakazato to the UCSF Division of Geriatrics faculty starting on October 1, 2024.
Dr. Nakazato completed her Family Medicine Residency at Tower Health/Chestnut Hill Hospital Program, her Geriatric Medicine Fellowship at Stanford University and her Hospice & Palliative Medicine Fellowship at University of Virginia before moving to the Bay Area this summer. She has completed several leadership programs, including the Stanford Medicine Leadership Education in Advancing Diversity (LEAD) Program and the American Medical Directors Association (AMDA) Futures Program, and wants to use her Geriatric and Palliative Medicine skills to provide comprehensive patient-centered outpatient care. She will be joining our clinician educator faculty as an attending physician in a new wing of the UCSF Center for Geriatric Care, which will be based at 1600 Divisadero for the first year and ultimately based at UCSF-St. Mary’s. She also will be an attending physician at the UCSF Osher Center for Integrative Health, focusing on Aging & Geriatrics Consults and providing older adult group visits. Dr. Nakazato’s professional passion is to help guide and support patients through good times and bad, and to show how dignity can be maintained even when we lose some of our independent functions.
Please join us in welcoming Dr. Maki Nakazato to the UCSF Division of Geriatrics faculty!
