Welcome Rose-Ann Thomas!
We are thrilled to announce that Rose-Ann Thomas, Clinical Research Coordinator, has joined our Division of Geriatrics as of today, May 5, 2025! Rose-Ann will be working closely with Dr. Carla Perissinotto, Dr. Ashwin Kotwal and their study teams in the Social Connections and Aging Lab, a dynamic hub that collaborates with several UCSF research programs specializing in epidemiology, palliative care, hospice, and dementia care. Beyond UCSF, the lab also partners with community programs like the Institute on Aging Friendship Line and Curry Senior Center.
Rose-Ann comes to us with stellar academic credentials: she earned her Bachelor of Arts in East Asian Studies & Medical Anthropology from Harvard College and her Master of Laws in China Studies at Peking University. Her professional journey includes her recent role as a Clinical Research Coordinator at UCSF Medicine Department of Nephrology, where she excelled in patient recruitment, consent processes, and longitudinal follow-up in complex clinical trials such as the HOME-BP study and the LETO and LIBERATE-D studies. She maintained critical data reports for PIs, trained patients, managed inventories, resolved technical issues, and onboarded new research coordinators. Before that, she was a Marketing Associate at Trusted Health, leading the CEU accreditation process and creating engaging blog content through interviews with travel nurses.
Rose-Ann’s broad experience in clinical research, public health, marketing, and customer engagement has finely tuned her skills in supporting and managing research studies. She is particularly adept at interacting with older patients and is eager to deepen her understanding of the unique challenges this population faces.
As a Clinical Research Coordinator, Rose-Ann will oversee study coordination, data collection, management, quality control, and support all research protocols and regulatory responsibilities. Reporting directly to Dr. Ashwin Kotwal, she will be based at Mission Bay. You can reach her at [email protected]. Join us in giving Rose-Ann a warm welcome to our growing Division! We are delighted to have her on board! 😊
