Anna Chodos Hosted Viewing and Panel Discussion about Guardianship in Older People

Anna Chodos, MD hosted a viewing and panel discussion about guardianship in older people. This included a movie viewing of Edith + Eddie, an Oscar-nominated short documentary film about an older couple affected by guardianship law, followed by a conversation with the filmmaker, Laura Checkoway, and experts: Sarah Hooper, JD from UC Hastings, Tony Chicotel, JD from CA Advocates for Nursing Home Reform, and Jill Nielsen, LCSW, Deputy Director of the Department of Aging and Adult Services.  The event was well attended and the movie led to a rich discussion about the importance of older people's wishes despite the constraints and legal processes of guardianship.
