Bay Area Older Adult Community Resource of the Week – Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly

This week’s Geri Community Resource is: Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly (LBFE)

Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly (LBFE) is a non-profit organization, aiming to bring people together through life-enriching experiences between the young and old generations. LBFE has two main programs focused on reducing social isolation through the support of volunteers; The first program (Volunteer Program) will have volunteers committed to visiting an older adult twice a month for 6 months with the aim of building a long-lasting friendship. The second program (Tech Allies) will have volunteers to train each elder for a weekly 8-week training course that covers the basics and essentials of using a tablet at their own home.
