Change of Roles and Job Opportunity

It is with mixed feelings that I write to announce that Dr. Michi Yukawa is changing her role within the Geriatrics Division as of Monday, September 14.  She will be leaving her position as SFVAHCS CLC Medical Director and primary care provider at the CLC and moving to UC Care at Home to become a primary care physician.  Michi will continue to precept a fellow at the CLC and also spend four weeks/year as an attending physician on the VA Mobile Ace Unit/Inpatient Geriatrics Consult Service.  We wish Michi a fun new chapter in her life as her son goes off to college in Connecticut and she starts a new job!

We therefore have an open 0.5 FTE position as CLC Medical Director combined with 0.3 FTE primary care provider in the CLC. A full-time 1.0 FTE position can be arranged if desired.  This is an important leadership position at the SFVAHCS and offers the opportunity for teaching, clinical and administrative innovation.

Dr. Anne Fabiny will serve as Acting CLC Medical Director until the position is filled.
