Dr. Krista Harrison Awarded 2019-2024 NIA Mentored Research Scientist Development Award

Dr. Krista Harrison was awarded a 2019-2024 NIA Mentored Research Scientist Development Award (K01) titled “Palliative Care for People Living at Home with Advancing Dementia and Their Caregivers.“ Mentored by Drs. Christine Ritchie, Alex Smith, Kristine Yaffe, and Kenneth Covinsky, and advised by John Boscardin, Dan Dohan and Jennifer Wolff (Johns Hopkins), Dr. Harrison will utilize secondary analysis of population-level data and primary data from interviews with patients and caregivers to understand the needs of older adults living at home with advancing dementia and their caregivers. She will use this information to develop and refine a toolkit (in collaboration with multiple stakeholders) to help neurologists to assess and address basic palliative care needs this population.
