Francesca Nicosia and Team Published Article in the Journal Global Qualitative Nursing Research

Francesca Nicosia, PhD, Linda Park, PhD, MS, FNP-BC, RN, and colleagues from the Palo Alto Medical Foundation published the article "Nurses’ Perspectives on Lean Redesigns to Patient Flow and Inpatient Discharge Process Efficiency" in the journal Global Qualitative Nursing Research. They found that nurses experienced competing pressures to their role and professional responsibilities as a result of Lean redesigns to the inpatient discharge process, especially when caring for older patients who expressed feelings of being "pushed out" and discharged too early.
