Many Geriatrics Faculty and Staff Have Completed DEI Champion Training

As part of the UCSF School of Medicine Differences Matter initiative, the goal of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Champion training is to increase awareness and skills for clinical teachers so that they can address bias and discrimination when and where it happens.  The Department of Medicine is committed to ensuring 40% of their faculty and 100% of leadership are trained in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion by 2020.  To date the following Geriatrics division faculty & staff have completed this training: Anna Chang, MD; Christine Ritchie, MD; Edgar Pierluissi, MD; Josette Rivera, MD; Louise Walter, MD; Michael Harper, MD; Michi Yukawa, MD, MPH; Suzanne Kawahara; Theresa Allison, MD.
