Welcome Clarissa Ferguson!

Clarissa Ferguson started this week on Dr. Rebecca Sudore’s team as a Project Policy Analyst I (Program Assistant).  Although new to our staff, Clarissa is no stranger to our team.  She has been a Volunteer Researcher on the PREPARE Study since August 2017 where she worked closely with Dr. Sudore and her research team on maintaining and updating the PREPARE website, which informs geriatric patients about advance care planning and medical decision-making.  Clarissa is currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at San Francisco State University with an expected graduation date of May 2020 where she will then earn her Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Physiology and a minor in Chemistry.  She is also currently working at the UCSF Department of Emergency Medicine under Dr. Robert Rodriguez as an Undergraduate Researcher, gaining direct research experience by collecting data via surveys on undocumented Latino immigrants and the fear of discovery on presenting to the Emergency Department and reporting domestic violence.  As a new Program Assistant in Division of Geriatrics, Clarissa will provide support on project operations and on a range of projects related to advance care planning. Projects will include PREPARE website, videos and material development and review, Spanish translation, advance care planning outreach and social media efforts and PREPARE research support.  Clarissa will be stationed at Laurel Heights, 4th floor (Suite 430) and can be reached at [email protected], phone # TBD.  If you get a chance to meet her, please welcome her to the team!!
