Welcome Dr. Jacklyn Katz to the Division of Geriatrics

Dr. Jacklyn Katz received her MD from the Temple University School of Medicine and most recently worked as Staff Physician at On Lok PACE before coming to UCSF.  Dr. Katz is passionate about geriatric medicine and dually boarded in both Geriatric and Internal Medicine.  She completed her Internal Medicine Residency at California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC) and her Geriatric Medicine Fellowship at UCLA.  Dr. Katz’s education and training has allowed her the opportunity to work with individuals from many different backgrounds, especially those who are underserved.  She recognizes the systemic healthcare system failure to provide equitable care to those individuals and actively works to alleviate those inadequacies as a member of the healthcare community.  As a leader in her field, Dr. Katz hopes to continue to address insufficiencies in our healthcare system and advocate for more diversity in the field of medicine such as hiring physicians who speak multiple languages or who are culturally congruent to a patient population.  Some of Dr. Katz’s leadership roles include serving as the Rotation Site Director for CPMC Internal Medicine Residents, as well as co-creating and contributing to the CPMC Internal Medicine Residency Blog.  In her new role at UCSF, Dr. Katz will primarily work in the UCSF Center for Geriatric Care and UCSF Geriatrics Inpatient Services at Moffitt-Long Hospital, but also providing on-call coverage for Care at Home.  Additionally, Dr. Katz will be collaborating with other faculty and providers on her academic work and will be involved in projects that are consistent with our Division’s mission of improving the care of older adults.  Welcome Dr. Katz!
