Welcome Roniela Turingan!

Please join us in welcoming Roniela Turingan, Age-Friendly Health System QI/Program Coordinator, to the Division of Geriatrics!

Roniela started this morning and will be supporting Dr. Stephanie Rogers and various Age-Friendly Health System (AFHS) programs and initiatives.  Roniela earned her Bachelor of Art degree in Public Health Policy from UC Irvine (UCI). She completed an internship at UCI, where she participated in planning and implementing the weight management program targeted to improve the health of UCI employees as there was a high prevalence of pre-diabetes in the population. Roniela enjoys providing health resources/intervention targeted to underserved population and she values improving healthcare operations.

In her most recent role as Program Coordinator at UCSF Institute of Global Health Sciences, she provided administrative and high-level programmatic support to their global HIV/AIDS cooperative agreements in various countries, such as, Kenya, Uganda and Namibia that are supported by CDC and PEPFAR. In this role she developed 20 plus multi-million-dollar budgets in collaboration with Program Managers and Grant Managers. Prior to this role, she was a Care Coordinator at Landmark Health and helped with providers schedules and supported patient panels with 500 plus patients. She worked closely with older adults who have multiple chronic illnesses. At the same time, she assisted in streamlining communication between clinical team and patients, conducted patient outreach, and organized overall patient care among other administrative medical duties.

Roniela has a wealth of experience in coordinating multiple projects and working with all levels of stakeholders and is especially well-versed with UCSF systems!  In Roniela’s new role as Age-Friendly Health System QI/Program Coordinator, she will lead programmatic, quality improvement, and coordination efforts on all AFHS clinical and QI programs.  In addition, she will serve the dual role as Health Care Navigator for the Geriatrics Inpatient Services.  Roniela can be reached at [email protected] if you need to get a hold of her, OR just to welcome her to the team!  We are so excited she has joined our growing Division and cannot wait to meet her in person, one day!
