Welcome, Sha’Nice Patterson!

Please join us in welcoming Sha’Nice L. Patterson, Age-Friendly Health System QI/Program Coordinator, to the Division!

Sha’Nice officially joined the team today and will be working alongside Dr. Stephanie Rogers to support Age-Friendly Health System (AFHS) programs and initiatives. A proud graduate of California State University, Sacramento, with a Bachelor of Arts in Child Development, Sha’Nice is passionate about fostering community and making a difference in the lives of others—a value instilled in her by her Granny, who helped raise her and inspired her life’s mission. Outside of work, she loves gardening, cooking, traveling, and embracing new adventures.

In her recent role as Wellness and Volunteer Coordinator at San Francisco Village, she championed programs that provided personalized care and essential support services to members. She built strong partnerships with healthcare providers like ACE staff at Sutter Health’s Mission Bernal Campus and expanded the organization’s visibility by engaging clients, health professionals, and donors. Her efforts included managing accurate records, representing the organization at key events, recruiting and training volunteers, and leading impactful community outreach and appreciation initiatives—all aimed at fostering connection and making a meaningful difference.

Sha’Nice previously served as a Community Health Outreach Worker for the Wellness Initiative at San Francisco Unified School District, where she developed tailored support services for students by analyzing key data. She partnered with teachers and staff to strengthen relationships and create a positive school environment. Her leadership extended to organizing school-wide events that fostered community connection and contributing to the Climate and Culture Committee to enhance the school’s overall atmosphere.

For nine years, Sha’Nice’s Granny was lovingly cared for by UCSF gerontologists, and her deep appreciation for Care at Home was even captured by PBS! As a former caregiver, Sha’Nice empathizes deeply with the struggles patients and families face, making UCSF Geriatrics’ mission and values profoundly personal and meaningful to her.

Sha’Nice has joined the team as the AFHS QI/Program Coordinator, where she will lead programmatic, quality improvement, and coordination efforts across all AFHS clinical and QI initiatives. In addition, she will serve as Health Care Navigator for the Geriatrics Inpatient Services and oversee their volunteer program. Based at Long Hospital L1547A, Sha’Nice can be reached at [email protected] and 415-502-4893.  Don’t hesitate to contact her or stop by to welcome her to the team! We’re thrilled to have her on board and excited for the impact she’ll make in our Division! 😊
