Welcome Soe Han Tha!

Soe Han, Research Analyst, started this morning onboarding remotely.  Her role will namely support Dr. Ashwin Kotwal and Dr. Carla Perissinotto’s research studies aimed at improving the care of older adults.  Soe Han holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and International Studies and a minor in Chinese from Trinity College in Hartford, CT.  She is also currently enrolled in a Postbaccalaureate Premedical Program at City College of San Francisco with a focused interest in geriatric psychiatry.  Soe Han is a curious learner with a healthy combination of analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.  Her research experience include writing her Senior Thesis based on 75 years’ of panel data on a cohort of study subjects about the study’s findings on the relationship between paid parental leave and the real wage growth, as well as working as a Research Assistant in the Economics Department while enrolled at Trinity College.  Soe Han has built an extensive amount of mental health, care and communications experience from her previous roles as: care provider, musical guide, reporter, patient visitor and administrative volunteer, clinic assistant and resident assistant spanning from 2013 to 2020.  Also noteworthy, Soe Han is multilingual in Spanish, Burmese, Portuguese and Mandarin, wow!!  Soe Han eventually plans to obtain her MD-PhD, but for now she is very excited to be part of our team to make a difference in the lives of older adults as well as to continue exploring her interest in geriatric psychiatry before applying to medical school.  We are also very excited she has decided to join our amazing team of researchers and staff!  While we wait for her UCSF access, email and phone # to be set up, Soe Han can be reached at [email protected].  Please help us welcome Soe Han to the team!
