Lynn Flint, MD

Professor of Medicine, Co-Program Director, Integrated Geriatrics and Palliative Care Fellowship, Staff Physician, Hospice and Palliative Medicine, SFVAMC

Dr. Lynn Flint is a Clinical Professor in the Division of Geriatrics and an attending physician on the Hospice and Palliative Care Service at the San Francisco VA Medical Center (SFVAMC). She provides inpatient palliative care consultation and nursing home care for older adults with complex chronic illness and functional and cognitive impairment.

Her goal is to improve the care of seriously ill older adults and their loved ones through education for learners at all levels and across disciplines. She is particularly interested in education focused on provider-patient communication about serious illness and the health care systems issues related to older adults facing chronic disease and disability. She is the VA Site Director and the Chair of the Clinical Competency Committee for the UCSF Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship program.

In 2015, Dr. Flint was awarded funding to develop the UCSF Integrated Geriatrics and Palliative Care fellowship, She has been working with her colleagues in Geriatrics and Hospital Medicine to build the program, which will include an innovative professional development and leadership curriculum. The first fellow will begin in July 2017.
