Congratulations to Drs.

Jason Flatt, PhD, MPH, Meredith Greene, MD, Leslie Dubbin, RN, PhD, and Madeline Deutsch, MD, MPH have been awarded a $75,000 Team Science RAP Grant on The Role of Affordable LGBTQ Age-Friendly Housing on the Health of LGBTQ Older Adults: A Natural Experiment.

Theresa A. Allison, MD, PhD, was awarded a UCSF Osher Integrative Dementia Pilot Award through the Resource Allocation Program (RAP). This pilot study will examine the potential for music to improve quality of life in dementia caregiving relationships.

Edgar Pierluissi, MD has been named a 2018 Master Clinician in the Department of Medicine. The Council of Master Clinicians was established by the UCSF Department of Medicine to honor members of our faculty whose main professional focus is clinical care, and who provide such care with uncommon skill and grace. In essence, our Master Clinicians are “the doctor’s doctors.” Edgar's nominators commented: 

Pei Chen, MD received the Geriatric Education Best Paper Award at American Geriatrics Society Annual Conference in 2018 for her work in interprofessional education, involving geriatrics fellows, pharmacy resident and students, social work interns, and law students, in ambulatory geriatrics primary care.

Congratulations to Jana Powell, Elaine Chow and Grisell Diaz-Ramirez for receiving the UCSF School of Medicine STAR Program SPOT Award! The SPOT Award recognizes significant employee achievements and contributions, as they occur, for a specific project or task over a relatively short period of time. A SPOT Award lets employees know that someone has noticed their noteworthy contribution.
