Alicia Neuman, Andrea Gonzalez, Louise Walter, and Josette Rivera published article in JAGS
Alicia Neumann, PhD, MPA, Andrea Gonzalez, MPH, Louise Walter, MD, and Josette Rivera, MD published an article entitled, "Improving older adults' telehealth through a novel community-academic partnership: Preliminary data" in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society.
The study found that the training model improved confidence, empowerment, and social connections for a diverse cohort of older adults, many of whom faced barriers to learning new technology.
Developed in a partnership between the UCSF Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program and Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly-San Francisco, the model's key characteristics included a device and comprehensive lesson book, as well as longitudinal one-on-one support from volunteer trainers.
Alicia will also present the paper at the AGS Geriatrics Models of Care Collaborative educational series on Wednesday September 13, 2023 from 2-3pm CST. Each quarter this series features JAGS papers on innovative geriatric practice models.
