Anna Hines, Todd James, Camie Kuo, and Colleagues Showcase Music-Based Intervention at CAGI Conference
Aaron Colverson, PhD, Anna Hines, NP, MPH, Todd James, MD, Camie Kuo, NP, and colleagues presented their research, "Preferential Music Playlists Improve Patient Experience During Care in an Age-Friendly Emergency Department," at the California Academic Geriatric Institutions (CAGI) Conference. This year's conference drew 186 registrants and featured 96 poster presentations. The 2027 CAGI Conference will be held on June 4, 2027, at the UCI Beckman Center.
Their presentation generated significant interest, with attendees eager to learn more about the intervention and explore opportunities to replicate it at their own clinical sites. To bring the research to life, Dr. Colverson played the violin, and the team offered attendees the chance to experience the intervention firsthand through a demonstration using headphones and curated music playlists.
In addition to sharing their work, the team enjoyed connecting with colleagues from across the state and even had the opportunity to meet several therapy dogs at the conference.
