Welcome Ellie Hough!

Please join us in welcoming Ellie Hough, Clinical Research Coordinator for Dementia Care Aware, to the Division of Geriatrics!!

Ellie started this morning and will be joining the growing Dementia Care Aware team as their Clinical Research Coordinator.  Ellie will report directly to Clara Park (Director of Strategy) and will work closely with the DCA team to support the overall success of the program.  Ellie has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Gonzaga University and was most recently a Community Health Fellow for the Project Horseshoe Farm in Greensboro, Alabama.  The role was an intensive community health fellowship dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable neighbors in a rural community through relationship-based care and support.  Prior to that experience Ellie worked as a Center for Community Engagement Civic Fellow for The ZoNE, and was a Student Researcher at her university in Spokane, WA.  Ellie has a strong research background and work experience in organizational capacity building, data abstraction and management, and is passionate about resolving disparities in health, education, and economic outcomes and engaging the community in the solutions.  Through a combination of personal and professional experience, Ellie has also garnered a strong desire to work on projects dedicated to improving forms of care for adults with memory disorders and their families.  With her experience in gathering and using data purposefully, as well as leading and supporting programs of various nature, we’re really excited to onboard Ellie and work with her on Dementia Care Aware.  Fun fact: Ellie is also Mental Health and CPR First Aid Certified!

In her new role as CRC, Ellie will be focused on data management, quality control and reporting, as well as supporting study coordination, protocol and regulatory responsibilities and other programmatic functions necessary for overall program success!  We are so thrilled that Ellie has joined our team, and cannot wait to see all the impact that she will make for this fast-paced statewide initiative!  Ellie will be based at the Mission Bay Office when working onsite and can be reached at [email protected] (phone # 415-885-3542).  Please join us in welcoming Ellie to the team!!!
