Congratulations Raha Shahroodi on receiving the NCIRE Special Contribution Award!
Congratulations to Raha Shahroodi, MPH, who’ve received an NCIRE Special Contribution Award! The NCIRE Special Contribution Award Program provides an opportunity for managers to recognize the outstanding work achievement of any regular full-time or part-time employee who has gone above and beyond his or her position description requirements or who has demonstrated outstanding corporate citizenship, teamwork or leadership towards the improvement or enhancement of a department project or activity, work process(es) or institutional objective(s). Raha was nominated by Dr. Mike Steinman for her outstanding contributions to the US Deprescribing Research Network. Raha went far above and beyond to successfully shepherd the renewal grant application for the US Deprescribing Research Network to completion. In particular, this grant application was an extremely complex process involving multiple partners at institutions around the country, an enormous host of other supporters from a variety of organizations, and all of this needed to be tightly coordinated and organized over a fairly short time frame. In addition, all of this happened right at the one a seasoned clinical research coordinator who was assisting Ms. Shahroodi left for another position, and a new CRC was hired to fill her place and needed orienting. Ms. Shahroodi deftly and expertly handled this extremely complex task. She managed relationships, budgets, and support documentation from a wide variety of partners and subcontract sites; she expertly organized materials from a variety of sources; she worked closely with NCIRE grants management staff to ensure everything was in place; and she did this all with excellent quality, timeliness, and communication. Congratulations Raha on this well-deserved award!
