Welcome Clara Park!

Please join us in welcoming Clara Park, MPA, Director of Strategy for Dementia Care Aware to the Division of Geriatrics!!

Clara started this morning and will be joining the growing Dementia Care Aware team as their Director of Strategy.  Clara has a Master of Public Administration degree with a focus on Health Policy & Management Program, and comes to us with nine years of project management experience in healthcare including overseeing a large portfolio of projects aimed at improving clinical outcomes for UCSF patients at Benioff Children’s Hospitals.  In her previous role as Quality Improvement Advisor, Clara worked in close partnership with physician, nursing, and administrative leadership at UCSF to improve quality and safety by developing short- and long-term quality and safety goals.  Clara was also the Care Redesign Strategic Services Associate for Duke University Health System, where she directed multiple initiatives as project manager and led multidisciplinary teams to achieve various strategic and operational goals.  Under her management, the team achieved an 80% increase in Sepsis CMS Core Measure (SEP-1) compliance and a 27% improvement in the mortality index for the sepsis patient population over 15 months across Duke’s three hospitals.  As Senior Process Improvement Analyst at Mount Sinai Health System, Clara led process improvement projects across a health system spanning 7 hospitals and over 45 ambulatory practices to improve clinical operations and meet new targets.  Clara is also a founding member of the UCSF Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Coalition – which aims to collaborate with our communities and allies to address anti-Asian hate and exclusionary practices for the AAPI community.

In her new role for Dementia Care Aware, Clara will work closely with the Director of Operations (Danielle Taylor) to jointly oversee all elements of program administration including collaborating with partners across multiple sites, designing, developing and executing program components, formulating program strategies and goals such as outreach, marketing, and program sustainability.  We are very excited that Clara has joined our team, and cannot wait to see all the impact that she will make for this fast-paced statewide initiative!  Clara will be based at the Mission Bay Office when working onsite and can be reached at [email protected], or phone 415-502-7716.  Please join us in welcoming Clara to the team!!!
