Alex Kazberouk and Eric Widera are raising funds for the All-Ukrainian Association of Palliative and Hospice Care

Alex Kazberouk, MD, MBA and Eric Widera, MD are raising funds for the All-Ukrainian Association of Palliative and Hospice Care because cancer and other serious illnesses impacting older adults do not disappear during a war. There has been a lot of international attention and support for refugee health in Ukraine. However, some patients may be too old or frail to flee and face tremendous adversity locally where they live.

Our hospice and palliative care colleagues in Ukraine face extra pressures and risk while continuing to care for both local patients and internally displaced persons. The most vulnerable patients – those too ill or frail to flee – are disproportionately impacted by the conflict. Please go here to learn more and donate. Your donations will go towards buying medications, wound care supplies, medications, diapers, mattresses, beds, and other medical supplies for hospices in Ukraine. Thank you!
