Anna Chodos Advances Conversations on Early Dementia Detection and Ethical Care for Older Adults
Anna Chodos, MD, MPH, continues to advance conversations around improving care for older adults and individuals with complex needs.
Dr. Chodos was recently featured in a Healio article, “Early detection, patient and caregiver support, keys to future of Alzheimer’s care,” where she emphasized the importance of early detection, developing brain health plans with patients as soon as possible, and the critical role primary care plays in achieving timely diagnoses.
In addition, Dr. Chodos presented at the Putting Care at the Center conference in Portland, OR, hosted by the Camden Coalition. Her session, “Advancing Individual Autonomy and Preventing the Need for Guardianship in Complex Care Systems & Practice,” was led by Sarah Hooper, JD, MPH (UC College of the Law), and co-presented with Alethia Battles, JD, LCSW, and David Sontag, JD. Together, they shared their work across health systems to promote fair and thoughtful use of guardianship and highlighted tools on Clarity Pro that help care teams identify alternatives to guardianship.
