Mitch Erickson volunteered at the 20th Annual Healthy Living Festival
On September 28th, 2023, Oakland Zoo held the 20th Annual Healthy Living Festival. It showcases agencies, community services, and health systems focusing on and promoting the health of older adults. It is free to attend and is presented by United Seniors of Oakland and Alameda County: Promoting Health and Wellness for Adults 55 and Older since 2003. Mitchel Erickson, DNP from the UCSF Division of Geriatrics joined other volunteers from UCSF Memory and Aging Center, Charles Windon, MD and Ashley Jackson, BA to answer questions regarding memory concerns and opportunities for formal assessment and research at UCSF Health. The purpose was to inform the older adult public regarding brain health and promote access equity for geriatric and specialty services for minority communities across the Bay Area.
