Richard Parenteau awarded two-year Bakar Aging Research Institute (BARI) Career Development Award (Quantitative Sciences)
Congratulations to Richard Parenteau, MD, PhD (FY2025 BARI Fellow) on receiving a two-year Bakar Aging Research Institute (BARI) Career Development Award (Quantitative Sciences) for the FY2025-FY2026 cycle! This $200,000/year prestigious award will allow Dr. Parenteau to 1) perform single cell RNAsequencing (scRNA-Seq) of native cutaneous senescent cells, comparing between the two known in vivo populations and contrasting with published in vitro models, and 2) create a transcriptome-based skin-specific senescence scoring system, and use this to assess the relative senescence burden in the age-related skin disease uremic pruritis. Congratulations again on receiving funding to do this very important work!
