Welcome Charlotte Scheerens
Please welcome Dr. Charlotte Scheerens, Visiting Graduate, to our Division!
Charlotte started on Monday (9/16) on Dr. Rebecca Sudore's team as a visiting graduate. Charlotte Scheerens (Belgian nationality) graduated with high distinction in 2012 as a MSc of Health/Medical Sociology and with distinction as a Master Management of Government Organizations in 2014, both at Ghent University (Belgium). In 2014, she started her academic career as a scientific researcher on a one-year project about the integration of ICF (International Classification of Functioning) in electronic patient records within the health and welfare sector at the Department of Family Medicine and Primary Health Care (Ghent University). Since April 2015, she joined the End-of-Life Care Research Group, working four years as a doctoral researcher on the INTEGRATE project. She specialized on the integration of early specialized palliative care in the treatment of patients with severe COPD for which she obtained a PhD in Health Sciences at Ghent University and a PhD in Social Health Sciences at Vrije Universiteit Brussel in June 2019. Since April 2019, she is consultant to the World Health Organisation, working on equity in human resources for health and became a post-doctoral fellow of the Belgian American Educational Foundation (B.A.E.F.), with starting date September 2019.
As a B.A.E.F-fellow/visiting graduate, she will be working with Dr. Rebecca Sudore’s team on the PREPARE-website. Charlotte is stationed at Laurel Heights, 4th floor (Suite 430) and can be reached at [email protected].
