Welcome Mitch Erickson!
Please join us in welcoming Mitch Erickson, RN, MS, ANP, Geriatrics Emergency Department Initiative Expert, to the Division!
Mitch started on Wednesday, 11/18/2020 and will be working closely with Drs. Stephanie Rogers, Todd James, Nida Degesys, and James Hardy on a new Geriatrics Emergency Department Initiative (GEDI) as our Initiative Expert. The Geriatrics ED Initiative Expert (duly named GEDI Master) will be responsible for the coordination of all aspects of the GEDI project including collaborating with the project team and colleagues, coordination with other UCs and health systems, consulting with stakeholders, and developing the curriculum and education of the Emergency Medicine Advanced Practice Providers (APP) around assessment and coordination of care for a geriatric patient population at UCSF Health. Mitch has a Master of Science degree in Nursing (Adult Nurse Practitioner) from UCSF and has worked at UCSF for about 30 years as a Nurse or Nurse Manager, as well as serving a number of leadership roles such as Associate Chief of Advanced Practice for UCSF Health most recently. Mitch is also Associate Clinical Professor at UCSF’s School of Physiological Nursing and Chairs two prominent Advanced Practice Advisory Committees for UCSF as well as for the Board of Registered Nursing, Department of Consumer Affairs headquartered in Sacramento. Mitch is highly passionate about this work and is the representative voice for all advanced practice providers across the health enterprise and its many facets and act as the resource to the health system regarding advanced practice. We are very excited to have him join our team and are looking forward to the year ahead as well as the impact he will make on this new bourgeoning initiative!
